Alex copied this from a temporary thing I had written for the runtime package. In runtime, you can't really access other packages like syscall, so everything has to be very manual. But in x/sys, we can do things properly. So this reimplements the function in a more straight forward way. This repository holds supplemental Go packages for low-level interactions with the operating system.
Download/Install
The easiest way to install is to run go get -u golang.org/x/sys. You can
also manually git clone the repository to $GOPATH/src/golang.org/x/sys.
